On August 28th, the Dakota girls varsity volleyball team began play in the Volleyball Power Series being held at Schoolcraft College in Livonia.
The Power Series is a progressive, 3-week tournament involving 30+ teams from across SE Michigan. Week 1 saw the teams compete in 3- or 4-team pools. A team's finish in Week 1 then determines their placement for Week 2 play, with the top teams being pitted against one another.
During Week 1, the Cougars competed in a pool consisting of Dakota, North Branch, Seaholm and Royal Oak. On the day, Dakota finished first in their pool by sweeping their 3 opponents without dropping a set.

The Cougars will continue Power Series play on Sept. 18th at Schoolcraft College.
